Kildare County Council (KCC) has told the Leinster Leader that it is currently working to resolve the illegal encampment situation between Newbridge and Ladytown.
The encampment was highlighted last Wednesday, January 21 by Fine Gael councillor Peggy O'Dwyer, who represents the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District.
Cllr O'Dwyer provided a photograph of the encampment to the Leinster Leader and stressed that she was "hugely disappointed that measures [of prevention and deterrence] to date have not worked" so far.
The Leader asked KCC for comment in relation to the photograph, as well as Cllr O'Dwyer's views on the matter.
In response, a spokesperson for KCC said: "KCC is monitoring the situation at Littleconnell, Newbridge and is working with the relevant parties to resolve the situation within the constraints of the law."
