Two burglaries which took place in Kilteel and Kill may be linked, according to a member of An Garda Síochána (AGS) based in South Kildare.
Garda Sean O'Mahony made the comments while speaking to KFM on the morning of Wednesday, August 7 last.
He explained that an attempted burglary incident took place in the Hartwell Green area of Kill at around 4.50am on Tuesday, August 6 last.
Gda O'Mahony also said that at around 5am, another attempted burglary took place at a premises nearby, in Kilteel Upper.
"You would imagine a suspicious mind would say that these two [incidents] were connected, Kilteel Upper [is just] ten minutes from the previous one [location of the first incident]," he added.
Gda O'Mahony concluded by saying that anyone with any information in relation to either of the two incidents can contact Naas Garda Station on (045) 884 300.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the first incident, a spokesperson for AGS said: "Gardaí are aware of an incident a burglary that occurred at a house in Kill, County Kildare at approximately 5am on August 6, 2024.
"Nothing was taken from the property.
"No arrests have been made."
They added: "Investigations are ongoing."
When asked by the Leader about the second incident, the same spokesperson said: "Gardaí are aware of an incident a burglary that occurred at a house in Kilteel, County Kildare at approximately 5am on August 6, 2024.
"Nothing was taken from the property.
"No arrests have been made."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
