The tally was conducted earlier this morning at the Curragh Racecourse
Sitting Fine Gael councillors, Tracey O'Dwyer and Peggy O'Dwyer look likely to top the Newbridge poll, according to the tally results.
Indications are that they will be elected on the first count.
Chris Pender (SD), Noel Heavy (FF), and Rob Power (FF) also polled strongly. Melissa Byrne (Aontú) and James Stokes (SF) are just behind.
There are six seats in this local electoral area and it will be interesting to see where the transfers go.
