A man aged in his 50s has been hospitalised following an incident of assault in Newbridge.
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of assault that occurred at approximately 7.25pm on June 1, 2024 on Station Road in Newbridge, County Kildare.
"One man aged in his 50s attended Naas General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of this incident."
The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing at this time."
