Work to start on 17 new bedrooms for Kildare hotel

Work is to start soon on building on 17 new bedrooms to The Westgrove Hotel in Clane.

A planning application was granted permission by Kildare County Council by Westar Investments Limited for the change of use of the existing office space at first and second floor level and first floor.

The 17 additional bedrooms will be made up of seven hotel bedrooms, four hotel family rooms and six hotel bedroom suites.

The designs feature office and storage space, according to construction industry database, Construction Information Services.

Existing first floor toilet facilities will be removed for the extension of the existing food preparation area.

The planning documents state that he site in question lies within the area of a protected structure.

The total floor are is over 1,000 square metres and the works are expected to take 12 months. 

The estimated construction value of the project is €1.4m.
