A Kildare town resident involved in a suspected €9,200 cannabis haul court case has had his case sent forward for trial.

Back in March, gardaí accused Colin Murphy, with an address listed as 7 Abbess Court, Firecastle Lane in Kildare town, of being in possession of the haul.

Judge Desmond Zaidan was told that the 31-year-old was also allegedly found with around €980 worth of suspected cocaine following a search by gardaí on him at Rathbride Road, Kildare town on July 4 last.

The suspected cannabis haul was later discovered by gardaí during a follow-up search.

On the latest court date (Thursday, July 27 last), a book of evidence was served on Mr Murphy by gardaí.

The accused was then sent forward for trial to the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which will commence on October 3, by substitute Judge Alec Gabbett.
