Halloween attack on Kildare Fire Brigade truck condemned
The incident occurred in Kildare town last Friday night (October 30 2026)
Sinn Féin TD for South Kildare Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh has condemned an attack on a Kildare Fire Brigade truck while it was attending to a call out in Kildare Town last Friday night (October 30).
Deputy Ní Raghallaigh said: “It is unacceptable that anyone in our community would be at risk of violent attacks like this while attending work, but particularly egregious that it would be our firefighters and emergency responders attacked in such a violent way”
She continued: “I send my full solidarity to the fire fighters injured in this attack and wish them a speedy recovery.
“The fire service is placed under immense pressures around Halloween and it could have been catastrophic for a vehicle to be out of service over this time.
“I would like to commend the fire service for their service to the community over the weekend in spite of this brazen attack on some of our bravest workers.”
