RIP: Tributes paid to Kildare "absolute lady" who passed this week

The late Margaret (Peg) Warne (née Compton)

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a Kildare "absolute lady" who passed earlier this week.

Margaret (Peg) Warne (née Compton), Maryville, Kildare Town, passed peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Lourdesville Nursing Home on March 9 2026.

Peg is the wife of the late Len; she is sadly missed by her loving son Ron, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Margaret (Peg) Rest In Peace.

Peg reposed at McWeys Funeral Home, Abbeyview, Kildare Town from 5pm on Tuesday concluding with Prayers at 7pm.

The removal took place by Glennons Funeral Directors on Wednesday morning to arrive at The Carmelites Church, Kildare Town for Requiem Mass at 11:30am.

The burial took place afterwards in St. Conleths Cemetery, Kildare Town.

Tributes paid to Peg on RIP.ie this week include: “My sincere condolence to you Ron, on your Beautiful Mam's passing, Peg was an absolute lady, She will be sadly missed.
May she now rest in peace back with her beloved Len.”

And: "Sincerest condolences to Ron and extended family on the passing of your mother Peg. My late sister shared a room with Peg and we had great chats with Peg over the course of many visits. May her soul rest in eternal peace."

While another mourner wrote: “Our condolences to you Ronnie and to the extended Warne & Compton families on the death of Peg, who, like her Mam was a lovely, quiet and unassuming lady-RIP Peg.”

And another added: “So sorry to hear the sad passing of Peg, we met her on our visits to Lourdesville, a beautiful lady. It was so sad to see her rapid decline. She is at peace with her Len. Our condolences to her son & family. Rest in peace Peg.”
