Opening round of Minor and U20 Hurling Championship fixtures confirmed

Kildare underage hurling is back on the schedule as the Fulfil Leinster U20 Hurling Championship and Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Hurling Championship get under way in the coming weeks. 

The Kildare senior hurlers are thriving at the minute with Division 1B survival already secured and confidence is higher than ever headed into their final 2026 Allianz Hurling League clash with Wexford. Part of the praise that The Lilies have received has been the number of players that have emerged from their minor and U20 structures in recent years and that all recommences here once again.

The Kildare minor hurlers face Meath at 3pm in Trim on Saturday, March 21 while the U20s face Kerry the following day at 4pm in Mangaurd Park, Hawkfield. See full opening round structure of the two competitions below.

Sunday, March 22

Carlow Venue (5.00pm) Carlow v Offaly

  • Winners of the above games Qualify for Round 3
  • Losers play in Round 2 – Saturday, March 28
