The late Kathleen O'Donoghue (née Carroll)
The community of Newbridge is mourning the recent passing of Kathleen O'Donoghue (née Carroll) of Newbridge, Kildare / Lixnaw, Kerry / Carrigtowhill, Cork.
Kathleen passed on November 12 2025, peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Suncroft Lodge Nursing home, Suncroft, aged 102 years.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Michael, daughter Caroline, grandson Shane, granddaughter Jamie, son-in-law Pat & Caroline’s partner Tom.
Kathleen is sadly missed by her son Michael, daughter Sandra, grandsons Rory & Fergal & their wives Cressida and Elaine, great grandchildren, Isabel, Laura and Orla and daughter-in-law Margot. Kathleen lived in Newbridge for 14 years with her daughter Sandra & her late husband Pat.

The removal will take place from Anderson & Leahy’s funeral home, Henry Street, Newbridge on Saturday to arrive at St. Agatha’s Church, Glenflesk, Co. Kerry for 12 Noon Mass.

Tributes paid to Kathleen on RIP.ie this week include: “Deepest sympathy Sandra and extended family on the sad passing of your dearest Mam. Kay was such a lovely lady, and it was always a pleasure to have her in the salon over the years. She brought warmth, kindness, and a gentle spirit every time she visited. We will remember her fondly. May she rest in peace.”
And: “To dear Sandra and all Kathleen's extended family members, we offer our sincere condolences on the sad passing of Kathleen. I met Kathleen on a number of occasions, and always found her to be the perfect lady. May she now rest in eternal peace.”
While another mourner wrote: “Sincere sympathy to you Sandra & Michael & the extended O’Donoghue family on the passing of your beloved Kathleen. Fond memories of a lovely neighbour in Lixnaw. May her gentle soul rest peacefully.”
And another added: “Adare Men's Shed would collectively like to extend our deepest Sympathies to Michael,Sandra and the extended O'Donoghue Family on the passing of your wonderful Mother, Kathleen. May Kathleen Rest in Peace.”
