Tributes paid to Leixlip, Kildare lady remembered as a 'wonderful mum' and 'lovely neighbour'

Tributes have been paid to a Leixlip, Co Kildare lady fondly remembered as a 'wonderful mum' and 'lovely neighbour.'

Mary Hayden (née Cunniffe) from Leixlip, Co. Kildare and formerly of Crehelp, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow passed peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Monday, November 10 last.

The beloved wife of the late John (Sonny), Mary is much loved and adored mother of Sean, Ann and the late Eileen, and the adored gran of Rebecca, Chris, Aoife, Ciara, Donn, Isabel and Joe. She is sadly missed by her loving son, daughter, grandchildren, sons-in-law Paul and Kevin, daughter-in-law Alma, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Mary’s kindness, her strength, and the values she shared will forever live on in her family.

Mary will be reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Celbridge on Thursday evening (November 13) between 5 pm and 7 pm.

The removal will take place on Friday afternoon (November 14) to the church of St. Charles Borromeo, Confey arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 pm followed by burial in Hollywood Cemetery, Wicklow.

Flowers or donations if desired to Harold’s Cross Community Rehabilitation.

Tributes paid to Mary this week on RIP.ie include: “We are very sad to hear about our lovely neighbour Mary’ passing. Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with you, Anne and family. May Mary rest in peace.”

And: “Heartfelt sympathies to Sean, Ann and all the Hayden family on the sad passing of your wonderful mum. Thinking of you all at this time. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Gerry, Gary and Staff.”

While another mourner wrote: “Deepest sympathies to Ann & Sean on the loss of your Mum and to Aoife, Ciara & Donn on the passing of your dear Gran. Thinking of you all at this sad time. May Mary Rest in Peace.”

And another added: “Deepest sympathy to Sean & Ann on the sad passing of your mum. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. May her gentle soul rest in peace.”
