The late John Bergin
A Kildare man who passed this week has been fondly remembered as a 'lovely, genuine man.'
John Bergin, Tanderagee, Broadford, Kildare passed peacefully after a brave battle, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the doctors and nurses at St Brigid's Hospice, The Curragh.
John is predeceased by his parents Michael and Alacoque, brothers and sister Seamus, Colette and Donal.
He is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, wife Betty (Cully), children Lorraine and her husband Danny, Neil and his wife Gwen, Yvonne and her husband Damien.
John is also mourned by his grandchildren Tadgh, Elsie-Mary, Grace, Abby, Alice, Aoife, Hannah and Patrick, brothers and sisters Michael, Valerie, Brendan, Robert, Dermot and Attracta, aunt Joan Flanagan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Tributes paid to John this week on RIP.ie include: “I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing. What a lovely genuine man. Sorry I couldn't be there for your last farewell. My deepest sympathy to everyone. Michael will be there on both our behalf. Rest easy now. Sincere condolences to Betty and all the family xx”
And: “With sincere condolences to Betty and family and all the Bergin family on the sad passing of John. May he rest in Heavenly Peace.”
While another mourner wrote: “Thoughts with Robert and all the Bergin family at this very sad time. RIP John.”
And another added: “Deepest sympathy to Betty, Yvonne, Lorraine, Neil and the extended Bergin family on the sad passing of John. May he rest in peace.”
John will be reposing in St. Mary's Church Broadford on Thursday (October 9) from 5pm - 7pm.
The funeral mass will be held on Friday (October 10) at 11am in St. Mary's Church Broadford followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.
John's family would like to thank you for your kindness and support at this difficult and sad time.
