The community of Athy, Kildare is mourning the recent passing of Alice Murphy (née Bambrick).
Alice, Marina Court, Athy, Kildare passed away peacefully on September 10 2025 at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise surrounded by her family.
Predeceased her husband Jackie, son-in-law Cyril, her brothers and sisters.
Alice will be sadly missed by her daughters Ann and Catherine, grandchildren Brendan (Emma), Catriona (John), Annalise (Dylan), Martin, great-grandchildren Dylan, Paul, Casy, Jack, Erin, Jake, Oliver, Darcie Mae, Livie, Andy, and Tom, son-in-law Bren, brother-in-law Sam, niece Anne Kelly, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
Alice will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Friday evening 12th September from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary at 6.30pm.
Removal at 10.45am on Saturday morning 13th September to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery, Athy.

Tributes paid to Alice on RIP.ie this week include: “Remembering Alice with love.
She was a wonderful woman whose presence made every gathering brighter, always smiling always laughing. She will be greatly missed.”
And: “Sympathies to all the family on the passing of Alice, she was a jolly person, may she rest in peace.”
While another mourner wrote: “May Alice rest in eternal peace. I remember her well from when I worked in Bradbury’s many years ago. Sincere condolences to all the family and friends.”
And another added: “So sorry to hear of passing of Alice. Anne and Catherine and extended Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Fond memories of great neighbour.”
