Kildare man remembered as a 'charming, kind and lovely gentleman'

The community of Brannockstown, Naas, Kildare is mourning the passing of John O'Loughlin, who passed on September 9 2025.

John has been fondly remembered as a 'charming, kind and lovely gentleman' and will be sorely missed in his hometown of Brannockstown.

Beloved husband of Catherine, much loved father of Roisín, Edward, John and Daniel. Predeceased by his son Simon.

Survived also by Daughters in law Nuala and Kerri, Daniel's partner Laura, grandchildren Blathnaid and Iseult, brother Eddie and sister Mary. Sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his home tomorrow, Thursday the 11th from 5pm-8pm.

Requiem Mass on Friday in St Peter's Church, Two Mile House at 11am.

Thereafter to Mount Jerome for 2.30pm service, which will be live streamed on their website.

House private on Friday morning please.

Tributes paid to John on RIP.ie this week include: “Deepest sympathy to Catherine and all John’s family. I had the privilege of sharing a stage with him on numerous occasions,memories I will cherish. A gentleman who will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him R.i.P. John.”

And: “Catherine & family, I'm very sorry to hear about John's passing. He was a lovely gentleman to have known. He was an all-around man of wonderful creativity and being in his presence always left you feeling enriched. May his noble soul rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “My deepest sympathy to Catherine and the O’Loughlin family on the death of John. His brilliant acting and musical voice will never be forgotten. What a charming , kind and lovely gentleman. Rest in peace John.”

And another added: “So sad to hear of John’s passing. Such great memories of our times together in Solecon and Kildangan Stud, he was always a true gentleman and friend. Our deepest condolences to Catherine and family. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.”
