Tributes have poured in following the passing of Leixlip, Co Kildare man, Tony (Anthony) Dunne, who passed on Saturday, August 30 last.
Dunne, Tony (Anthony) (Leixlip, Co. Kildare and formerly of Ordnance Survey) August 30 2025. Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Rita née Hand and much-loved father of Claire, Anne, Siobhán and Valerie and a cherished grandad of Emma, Lauren, Charlotte, Jake, Sarah, Isabelle, Kelly and Alannah.
Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law Graham, Colin, Trev and Dermot, brother Val, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many good friends.
May he rest in peace.

Tributes paid to Tony this week on RIP.ie include: “So sorry to hear of your dad's passing, Siobhán. Sending lots of love. May the happy memories you shared with him, bring you comfort and peace.”
And: “Thinking of you all during this very sad time. Sending love and strength. Very fond memories of Tony, may he rest in peace.”
While another mourner wrote: “Deepest sympathy Bonnie, Mrs Dunne and extended family on the passing of your Beloved Dad Husband, Grandad thinking of you all at this very difficult time for you all rest in Eternal peace Mr Dunne.”
And another added: “Heartfelt condolences to Rita, Claire, Anne, Siobhàn, Valerie, and all the extended family on the passing of Tony. We will remember him fondly as a true gentleman and a wonderful neighbour. Rest in peace.”
Reposing at his residence on Tuesday evening (September 2) between 6pm and 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning (September 3) to the Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, Leixlip arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 am followed by Cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium.
