A Naas, Co Kildare man has been fondly remembered as 'a great friend and colleague' and 'a truly lovely person.'
Tributes have poured in for Michael McCarthy, Hollywood Park, Naas, Co Kildare (formerly of Dunmanway, Co Cork), who died peacefully on July 24 under the wonderful care of the staff at Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross.

Michael is predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, brother Donal and sister Angela.
Loving father of Barbara, Caroline, Andrea, Maria, Kevin, Sabrina and Brendan, and grandfather to Ciara, Sophie, Cillian, Ryan, Isla, Evelyn, Lucy and Rian.
He will be very sadly missed by his family, sister Carmel, sister-in-law Suzanne, brother-in-law Gerard, sons-in-law, Paul, Wayne, Mark and Kiel, daughters-in-law, Aisling and Ana, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Tributes paid on RIP.ie this week include: “Sincere Sympathy to all of Michael's family, children, grandchildren and the extended family. Michael was a great friend and colleague and it was my privilege to have known him and his lovely wife Mary and family. May his kind and gentle soul Rest in Eternal Peace.”
And: “Sincere sympathy to all the McCarthy family on the loss of Michael. He was a kind and thoughtful neighbour and will be greatly missed. The Glenny Family, Hollywood Park.”
While another mourner wrote: “I’m so sorry to hear that Michael has died. He was such a lovely man to chat to. Sincere sympathy to you all at this sad time.”
And another added: “Sincere condolences to the McCarthy family at this very sad time. Michael was a truly lovely person, great neighbour and will be deeply missed in our community.
May Michael's gentle soul Rest In Peace.”
Reposing at home on Sunday, July 27, from 4pm - 7pm, with prayers at 6.45pm.
Funeral on Monday, July 28, with Requiem Mass at 10am in the Church of Our Lady and St. David’s, Naas.
Burial afterwards in St. Corban's Cemetery, Naas.
