Kildare man fondly remembered as a 'wonderful colleague and person'

A Leixlip, Co Kildare man who passed this week has been remembered as a “wonderful colleague and person.”

Paddy Wilson, Leixlip, Kilare / Santry, Dublin passed peacefully on July 9 2025 in the tender care of the staff of St James' Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Miriam, devoted father of Lauren and Rebecca, and loving partner of Gráinne.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken daughters, partner Gráinne, Lauren’s partner Oisín, brothers Mark, Damien, Greg and Ciáran, sister Alicia, sisters-in-law Margaret, Regina, Ger and Natasha, brother-in-law Luca, adored nieces and nephews, Gráinne’s daughters Niamh and Aoife and their partners, and their cherished children Sadhbh, Donnacha and Ailbhe, friends, neighbours and work colleagues.

May Paddy Rest in Peace.

Reposing at the Kirwan Fanagan Funeral Home, Ballygall Road West (D11 W7VX) on Friday (July 11) from 5pm till 7pm and again on Saturday morning (July 12) from 11.30 am prior to his removal to Glasnevin Crematorium.

A Celebration of Paddy’s Life will take place on Saturday afternoon (July 12) at 1.30pm in Glasnevin Crematorium Chapel.

Family flowers only please. Donations, in lieu, to The Irish Cancer Society.

Tributes paid to Paddy this week on RIP.ie include: “So sorry to hear of Paddy’s passing. He was a truly wonderful colleague and person, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of working with him. May his kind and gentle soul rest in peace.”

And: “Deepest condolences to Gráinne & the family. Paddy was a wonderful man and always full laughter. He will be missed dearly, May he rest in peace x”

While another mourner wrote: “Paddy was one of a kind, a truly special man, devoted to family, and such good fun to be around. Only 3 months ago despite his illness he accompanied Gráinne to England for my father’s funeral and was there for his burial in Glasnevin. An act of kindness which we will always cherish and a testament to the calibre of the man.”

And another added: “Deepest sympathy to Rebecca and her family on the sad passing of their father. May he rest in peace.”
