Mary Higgins (née Dunne)

The death has occurred of Mary Higgins (née Dunne), Barna Road, Galway, H91 KC2D / Caragh, Kildare.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Mary's death on July 4, 2025 peacefully at home at the age of 78.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Deeply mourned by her devoted husband Steve, much loved children Lynda, Maureen, Stephanie, Neven and Clare, sons-in-law David, Frank and Joe, daughter-in-law Anna Karin, thirteen adored grandchildren, five gorgeous great grandchildren and by her loving brother Pat.

Mary was a woman of faith, resilience, and grace, born on July 1, 1947 in Castlekeely, Caragh, Naas, Co. Kildare who dedicated her life to her family.

Fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, strength and unwavering love, always putting others before herself and offering a listening ear.

Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she nurtured and inspired.

May she be reunited with her parents Bridget and Peter and cherished loved ones.

Rest eternally in Heavenly peace.

Funeral arrangements

Tuesday, July 08, 2025 Mary will repose at home (H91 KC2D) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. House strictly private after 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 09 2025 Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mary on arrival at St. Mary’s Church, Claddagh (H91 D36) at 11 a.m.

Following Mass she will be laid to rest in Knock cemetery, Inverin, Co. Galway.

Bridget Hand (née Carolan)

The death has occurred of Bridget HAND (née Carolan), Graiguecullen, Carlow / Maganey, Kildare.

Bridget Hand (née Carolan) of 25 Fr. Byrne Park, Graiguecullen, Carlow and formerly of Maganey, Barrowhouse, Co Kildare, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on July 5th, 2025, at her home.

Beloved wife of the late Eamonn, much loved mother of Sylvia, Jacinta, Nicholas, Jason and Kenneth, adored grandmother of Shanice, Aaron and Lucas and great-grandmother of Xavier and cherished sister of Margaret and the late Kathleen.

She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sister, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May Bridget’s Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing at her home, 25 Fr. Byrne Park, Graiguecullen, Carlow (Eircode R93 AV65) on Monday (July 7th) from 2pm until 8pm with Prayers at 6.30pm that evening. Removal from there on Tuesday at 11am, walking to St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in Killeshin Cemetery, Killeshin, Co Laois.

Philomena (Meanie) Lawlor (née Dunne)

The death has occurred of Philomena (Meanie) Lawlor (née Dunne), Cooleragh, Coill Dubh, Kildare.

Lawlor, (née Dunne), Philomena (Meanie), Cooleragh, Coill Dubh, Co. Kildare, July 5th 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, pre-deceased by her loving son Liam and brother Andrew, dearly missed by her loving husband Bill, children Kathleen, Matthew, Paul and Mandy, their partners Noreen and Alex, grandchildren Shane, John-Joe, Rory, Zac and Jake, sisters Lil, Bridgie and Rita, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends.

Reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Prosperous (W91T62P) on Monday from 3pm - 7pm, with evening prayers at 6:30pm.

Removal from her residence on Tuesday at approx. 10:40am to arrive at Christ The King Church, Cooleragh for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in St. Benignus' Cemetery, Staplestown. Those who wish to leave a personal message/condolence for the family, please use the "condolences" section below.

Anne Marie Murphy (née McMahon)

The death has occurred of Anne Marie Murphy (née McMahon), Cedarwood Park, Newbridge, Kildare / The Curragh, Kildare. Formerly of The Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare.

Predeceased by her parents Brigid and Patrick and also her brothers James and Michael.

Sadly missed by her loving daughters Francesca and Jacqueline, sons Colin and David, sons and daughters in law, her 16 grandchildren, sisters Mary and Christina, brother Patrick, nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours, friends and her beloved pet Cody.

May Anne Rest In Peace.

The death has occurred of Homer Scott, Kilkea, Kildare / Templepatrick, Antrim.

In Loving Memory of Homer Scott, Kilkea, Co. Kildare and formerly Templepatrick, Co. Antrim, 4th July 2025 – peacefully, in the excellent care of Tallaght University Hospital.

Loving father to James, Sarah and John and proud grandfather to Harriet, Jack, Tess, Robyn, Archie, James and Posy.

A cherished brother to Orla, James, Peter and Brona. Father-in-law to Paul, Barbara and Lisa and brother-in-law to Patrick.

He will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends.

May he Rest in Peace.

Removal to the Church of the Assumption, Castledermot, arriving at 7.00pm on Monday evening (July 7).

Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday at 11.00am, followed by burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Glenavy, Co. Antrim (approximate arrival time: 4.30pm).
