Heartfelt tributes have poured in following the sudden passing of Kildare man, William (Bill) Igoe.
Bill, originally of The Walk, Co. Roscommon, and late of Naas, Co. Kildare, passed away suddenly on the March 1 2025, in Longniddry, Edinburgh, Scotland, surrounded by his immediate family.
Beloved husband of the late Patsy, Bill was the loving father of Trish, Dermot, Ken, and the late Neil, and a proud grandfather to Conor, Vanessa, Alex, Sophie, Christian, Emily, Chloe, and Aimee. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Mary, Manuela, Caroline and Charlie, extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.
Bill was known for his warmth, kindness, and his deep love for his family. He was a cherished member of his community in Naas and beyond.

Tributes paid on RIP.ie this week included: “Heartfelt sympathy to Trish, Dermot, Ken and all Bill's grandchildren on your sad loss. Bill was a very good friend to my dad Noel and was a frequent and welcome visitor to our family home over the years. Good humoured and quick to smile, we have very fond memories of Bill. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
And: “Our very sincere condolences to all the Igoe family on the sudden death of their beloved Dad, Bill. We were shocked to hear this very sad news. Bill & Patsy were our lovely neighbours in Hollywood Park for many years. Will miss our chats after Sunday Mass in Naas with Bill. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.”
While another mourner wrote: “We were so deeply saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Billy. He truly was a remarkable man - a gentleman. So thoughtful & kind-hearted. He will be sadly missed by all of us. May his gentle soul RIP. Sending all our love and heartfelt condolences to you all during this difficult time.”
And another added: “We are very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Bill. A charming cousin who was very close to our late dad Bill O’Flynn. Mum & dad really enjoyed his many visits to Rockville over the years. Thinking of you all at this sad time.”
Reposing at The George Mullins Funeral Home, Kilcullen Road, Naas (Eircode W91 CD0K) on Friday 21st March from 5pm to 7pm with prayers at 6.30pm.
Funeral on Saturday March 22 with Requiem Mass at 10am in The Church of Our Lady and St. David, Naas, followed by burial at St Corban’s Cemetery, Naas.
Family flowers only please. Donations, in lieu, to Friends of Naas Hospital – Donation box in church.
