Tributes have poured in following the passing of Michael Ringrose, Knockaulin, Leixlip, Co. Kildare and late of Dublin Road, Co. Limerick and Retired Chief Superintendent of An Garda Síochána.

Michael passed on March 5 2025 unexpectedly at home.

He is pre-deceased by his brother John and sister Kay (O'Dwyer).

Dearly beloved and adored husband of Oonagh, father of Eileen, Niamh, Fiona, Gareth and the late baby angel Iain.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, children, sons-in-law Gerard and Paul, daughter-in-law Amy, adored grandchildren Emma, Adam, Aisling, Sinead, Ciara, Sorcha, Shauna, Darragh, Dylan and Madison, great-granddaughter Harper, siblings Terry, Paddy and Annette, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends and former colleagues.

Tributes paid to Michael this week included: “Fiona, you always spoke about your dad with love and admiration. I’m sure he will be keeping a close watch over you all now. Take care in the difficult days ahead x”

And: “Deepest sympathy to Oonagh & family, Paddy, Annette & Terry. Thinking of you all at this sad time may Michael R.I.P. It was always lovely to deal with him in Hogan's.”

While another mourner wrote: “Sincere condolences to Oonagh, Eileen, Niamh, Fiona, Gareth & extended Ringrose family on the sad passing of your beloved Michael. He was a lovely, friendly gentleman. May he rest in peace.”

And another added: “I was sorry to read of the death of my former colleague Michael. May he rest in peace. May God grant sympathy and support to his family.”

Reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Leinster St., Maynooth, (W23 V99E) on Tuesday from 4pm - 7pm, with evening prayers at 6:30pm.

Removal from his residence on Wednesday at approx. 12:30pm to arrive at the Church of Our Lady's Nativity, Leixlip for 1pm Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Confey Cemetery.
