Tributes paid to Kildare 'lovely woman and great neighbour'

Heartfelt tributes and condolences have poured in for a Kildare 'lovely woman and great neighbour' who passed recently.

Mary Cash (née Slattery), 50 Hill View, Rhode, Offaly, R35 K3H6 / Clane, Kildare, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Tullamore Hospital.

Mary will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family: husband Biller, daughters Margaret, Irene, Becky and Shelley, grandchildren Patrick, Nicole, Jamie, Shannon, Lacey, India, Jack and Nathan, sons-in-law Alvin and Gerry, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Tributes and condolences paid to Mary this week included: “Our thoughts are with you all at this very sad time, Mary was taken too soon, a lovely woman and a great neighbour. Rest in peace Mary, you will be missed.”

And: “Becky and all your family. Deepest sympathies to you at this sad time. May your mam rest in peace. Thinking of you all.”

Another mourner wrote: “Sincere condolences to Mary's family extended families and friends, so very sorry for your loss. Lovely memories of the Slattery family years ago in Cosmona. Rest in peace Mary.”

And another added: “Mary you were a wonderful woman. You loved and looked after Dean and Shaunagh like they were your own. Your love for us was genuinely truly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and generosity to me and my family over many years. Now sending my love to Biller, Margaret, Irene, Becky and Shelly. May you rest in peace now Mary. From Lynn Kilduff in New Zealand.”

Mary will repose at her home (Eircode R35 K3H6) this Sunday from 2pm to 7pm with Rosary at 7pm.

Her Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 11.00am in St. Peter's Church, Rhode followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
