Tributes have been paid to a 'kind' and 'gentle' Kildare woman who passed this week.
Deirdre Hamed (née Norton) (River Forest, and formerly of Mill Lane, Leixlip, Co Kildare) passed away peacefully on February 8.
Deirdre was the beloved mother of Ahmed and Yasmin and is remembered with love by her sister Joan, brother John, grandson Aidan, daughter-in-law Karen, son-in-law Colin, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Tributes paid to Deirdre on RIP.ie this week included: “Condolences to Jasmine, Ahmed on the death of your mother. I have good memories of her from back in the day from spending time in Leixlip and trips to Wexford and Bray. Deirdre was a gentle person and kind. My thoughts are with you all at this time.”
And: “Ahmed and Yasmin, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beautiful mum Deirdre.
I have such fond memories of Deirdre, I remember her as such a kind and fun lady and I loved visiting your home as a child. My sincere condolences to you both and all of the family and friends.
May Deirdre rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “Very sorry to hear of Deirdre's passing, a lovely lady.”
And another added: “Our sincere condolences Ahmed and Yasmin, may your mother rest in peace. Jenny and Al.”
Deirdre will be reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Lucan on Wednesday evening (February 12) between 5pm and 7pm.
Removal on Thursday morning (February 13) to the Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, Leixlip arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Confey Cemetery.
