Tributes paid to 'a true lady' from Kildare who passed away this week

Tributes have been paid to Phoebe Murphy (née McNamara), Convent View, Athy, Kildare / Curragh, Kildare.

Phoebe Murphy (Née McNamara), passed away peacefully on Thursday January 30 2025.

Predeceased by her parents Pakie and Bridget, brothers John, Pat and Michael, sisters May and Rose.

Phoebe will be sadly missed by her loving husband Andy, her children Gretta, Patrick, Breda, Geraldine and Andrew, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, partners, brothers Frank and Kevin, sisters Gaye, Gretta, neighbours, relatives and close friends.

Condolences on RIP.ie included: “Our Deepest Sympathy to Andy and family on the passing of Phoebe a lovely lady. May her gentle soul Rest in Peace”

While another mourner wrote: “Sincere Condolences to Andy & Family on the sad loss of a Devoted Wife Mother and Grandma. Rest in Eternal Peace Phoebe.”

Another wrote: “Condolences to all Mrs Murphy's family at this very sad time..A true lady may she rest in peace.”

And finally another mourner wrote: “Im deeply saddened to hear of the passing of phoebe she was a beautiful lady, my deepest sympathy to Andy & all the family ❤️may she rest in heavenly peace.”

Phoebe will repose in Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Friday January 31, 2025 from 5pm until conclusion of the Rosary at 7pm.

Phoebe’s Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 2pm in St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy. Burial afterwards in St Michael’s (New) Cemetery, Athy.
