Bradán Players are once again embarking on the annual one-act festival circuit with “Some Kind of Love Story” by Arthur Miller. The first performance of the play was in the Confey GAA club on November 8 and was very well received by the Leixlip audience.

This production, directed by George Hogan stars John Duggan and Jenny Ni Lucais. Also featuring are Sinead McLoughlin, Dave Miller, John Dennehy, Jordan Donnelly and Marie Kelly.


The Carers Support Group is having a display of educational toys suitable for children with special needs on Friday November 23 from 10am to 1.30pm at the Leixlip Parish Centre, Old Maynooth Road, Leixlip. The two toy companies present will be Adam & Friends and Sensational Kids.

Leixlip Choir will be Carol Singing in aid of North Star Swimming Club, a voluntary swimming club for people with disabilities, in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre on Sunday December 9 from 12.30 to 2.30pm. Please come along to support the wonderful choir and worthy cause.

NUIM Barnhall Rugby Club will be holding its Christmas Concert in the K Club on Friday December 7, starting at 8pm. Music will be provided by Celtic Rose. Tickets are available at the club.


The first Masses in this year’s Do This in Memory Programme take place on Sunday November 25, the Feast of Christ the King.

The 9.45am. Mass is for the children and their families of Second Class Scoil Mhuire. The 11am is for the children and their families of Second Class in Scoil Eóin Phóil and Scoil Bhríde and the 12.15pm. Mass will be for the children and their families of Second Class Scoil Uí Dhálaigh.


Dorothy Armstrong, Occupational Therapist, will give a presentation entitled “Asperger’s and Girls” in the Library on Thursday November 29 at 7pm. Booking is essential for this presentation. Contact Library Reception.


The Annual Parish Table Quiz will take place on Friday November 30 at 8.30pm in St. Mary’s GAA Club.

St Mary’s Church of Ireland wish to thank everyone for the fantastic support given to their cake sale and coffee morning on Saturday November 3 in aid of St. Brigid’s Hospice.

The sum raised was €2,200. The organisers really appreciate the support given to this very worthy cause. Raffle winners were: Ben Condell, Andrea Stewart, Ann Ryan, Mary Jennings, Sarah Seaman and Ann Austin.


The Parish Cell groups will resume meetings on the following dates: November 20 and 27 (Combined Cell Meeting) at 8.30 at all usual venues.


Rina Whyte, Nutritionist, will give a talk on Nutrition for Children with Special Needs on Thursday November 22 in the Library at 7pm. Advanced booking is required to attend this event.


The next meeting will be on Friday November 23 when there will be an Excel Gymnastics morning. Register with the library to join the group or just come along on the day. The library provides a safe place for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers to play with puzzles and toys. You can meet other parents and enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

There will be entertainment for children and/or guest speakers for parents each week.


The Leixlip GAA 2012 Members Draw will take place on Saturday December 8 at 10pm in the Clubhouse.

Tickets are available for sale at €30 each.

There are excellent prizes. The club AGM will take place on December 3 in the Hall after the 6pm Mass.


Come and enjoy a coffee morning in aid of Leixlip Resource Centre, in the Parish Centre on Thursday next November 22 with home baking and a raffle for a Christmas Hamper.
