Catriona Byrne retires from family business

Catriona Byrne, a woman originally from Kilcullen and now living in Naas, is retiring after five decades working in her family business.

The clothing store located in Naas town called 'Catriona's' was founded by Catriona's late mother Carmel Byrne and was originally called "Miss Mod", then "Mod Fashions" and now "Catriona's".

In an interview with us this week, Catriona said that she really enjoyed the many years of working at her shop in Naas and especially all the different people that she met along the way.

"I love fashion. I love going to see the different seasons of retail that the wholesalers produced over the years...everything was always different."

Catriona said that summer was always her favourite season because she loves bright colours and every year brought new surprises of fashion.

She added that her clothing store is now going up for sale in January and ahead of her retirement she is looking forward to to the next chapter in her life.

"I'm looking forward to continuing a lot of the hill walking that I was doing before....enjoying what lies ahead for the future and probably walking the dog and enjoy all the things that I have.

"I can make plenty of time to do the things I love now."
