On March 14, Craddockstown Golf Club celebrated the opening of the 2026 golfing season with their Captains Drive-in.
Captain JP Smith and Lady Captain Fiona Feeney were joined by Junior Captains Michael Byrne and Frankie O’Loughlin.
Despite terrible weather leading up to the weekend, the course was magnificent and the sunshine was very much welcomed! The course was in super condition and our course superintendent and course volunteers should be commended on how well the course looked.
To kick off celebrations, the Captains met in Lawlors Hotel in Naas for breakfast accompanied by Vice Captain Gary Higgins and Lady Vice Captain Maureen O’Keane.
The captains were then driven by vintage car to the golf club, where they were met by a piper and led up to the clubhouse.
Members had a morning nine hole competition followed by breakfast in the clubhouse and were waiting when the captains arrived. The captains were also joined by their family and it was a lovely occasion.
The drive-in took place at around 12.45 following by another nine hole rumble competition. Evening dinner and reception was followed by light entertainment to give the perfect ending to a fantastic day.
