Naas Parkrun are inviting Irish speakers to take part in their #parkrunabú! event which will take place on Saturday, March 9,  at 9.30am on Naas Racecourse.

Parkrun is a free 5k walk or run which takes place every Saturday morning, starting on the ambulance track.

This particular event is being organised by Naas Parkrun in conjunction with Oireachtas na Gaeilge, who have been providing wristbands with ‘Tá Gaeilge agam’ (I speak Irish) to parkrunners around the country, so that they can recognise other Irish speakers and chat to them.

Majella Ní Chríocháin from Oireachtas says that the campaign has been so successful that they will be organising 13 #parkrunabú! events around the country this year, with the second one being in Naas.

Aedamar Ní Luachra, from the local Seachtain na Gaeilge committee,  who are promoting this event in conjunction with Oireachtas, say that they are delighted that Irish speaking families and others in Kildare will have the chance to take part in this recreational and social event thorough Irish.

“Beidh spraoi againn - we will have a bit of craic!”

Those interested can register for Parkrun free of charge at www.parkrun.ie/naas, and you can get further information from  majella@antoireachtas.ie.
