Jack Mahon's stunning last gasp 45' sends Patricians Newbridge through

Leinster Schools ‘A’ Championship

Patrician SS Newbridge 0-14

St. Joseph's Rochfortbridge 2-7

With the last kick of the game before Maurice Deegan's final whistle Jack Mahon stood over the most crucial strike of a ball of his school's year so far. Mahon looked around for a nice spot of grass and found it after some deliberating, his patience paid off as he unleashed a stunning strike straight between the posts in the most crucial of moments.

Patricians needed a win, with a draw enough to send their opponents through in their place. Few saw this result coming after 25 minutes of proceedings with St. Joseph's leading by eight points and in relative control. It was an incredible comeback by the Newbridge side that was capped off by a superb winning score.
