Kildare GAA: Athy edge it over Sarsfields

Athy got the better of Sarsfields in one of the best SFC games of the weekend, the boys from the south of county were worth winners, albeit by just two points in the end.

Meanwhile Confey proved too strong for Two Mile House making their first appearance at this level in their history.

In the IFC Leixlip got the better of Sallins;

In the Tom Cross JFC, Castlemitchell edged it over Arclough while Ballymore Eustace defeated Grangenolvan comfortably.

Joe Mallon SFC, Preliminary Round:

Athy 1-13 Sarsfields 0-14;

Johnstownbridge 1-13 Carbury 0-13.;

Confey 1-15 Two Mile House 2-7.

Pittman Traffic IFC, Preliminary Round

Leixlip 0-12 Sallins 0-9;

Clogherinkoe 0-00 Kilcock 0-00.

Tom Cross JFC

Castlemitchell 2-9 Ardclough 1-10;
