An eagle two on the par 4 17 hole of the Alps Tour Grand final at Lake Maggiore in Italy, leaves Naas professional Conor O'Rourke within touching distance of gaining a full Tour Chalenge card for 2019.

Going into this week the Naas man lay in 13th position in the Order of Merit rankins, just €3,000 short of the otp 5 on the money list and with €45,000 prize money and 70,000 points on offer the popular O'Rourke is well poised for the top 3 finish required to claim a full  Challenge Turn for next season.

O'Rourke was due to get his final round under way this morning (Sunday) at 10.50
