Ballyanne Sim, the outsider of the field at 12/1, took home the €140,000 winnings of BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park last nigh for former Wexford hurler and Kildare-based owner Eamon Cleary. Eamon previously bred and owned Willie Mullins-trained racehorse Annie Power, who won 15 of her 17 races.
Magical Bale – trained by last year’s winning handler, Tipperary’s Pat Guilfoyle – came behind in second, taking home a €27,000 prize, while Cork-owned Clona Blaze came home in third, netting €15,000 for connections.
