Towers force draw with late, late frees

Mark Sherry Two Mile House bursts past Michael Joyce of Round Towers

Two frees in the 71 and 72 minute saw Round Towers force a draw against Two Mile House in today’s Intermediate Football final at St Conleth’s Park.

THe House led at the break 1-4 to 0-6 after a half that was held up for some 12 minutes due a Two Mile House injury.

On the resumption Towers took the lead and went two clear on 50 minutes but Two Mile House came back to level, take the lead and looked home and hosed when leadng by two with 67 minutes on the clock.

However the game rolled on for a further five minutes in which Towers drew level with two late Neil Scanlon frees.

Final score: Round Towers 0-14 Two Mile House 1-11.

Two Mile House, Aidan Casey 1-8 (6 frees and penalty), Chris Healy 0-1, Peter Kelly 0-1, Shane D’Arcy 0-1.
