LGFA: Armagh edge Kildare by four points

After gaining a point away to Cork last weekend, Kildare fell to Armagh at Manguard Park, Hawkfield, in Round 2 of the Lidl National League Division 1.

Pat Sullivan side played well in the opening quarter with plenty of possession they led 0-4 to 0-1 midway through the opening half. However Armagh took over and hit the following six points to lead 0-7 to 0-4 at the break.

That lead was pushed out four on the resumption before Kildare hit back with points from Aoife Rattigan and Aannah Prizeman and when Molly Aspell pointed in the 40 minute there was just a single point separating the sides - 0-8 to 0-7.

The visitors, however, kicked on again with captain and player of the game, Lauren McConville leading the way, they went four clear again and despite Kildare having plenty of possession they failed to put that possession on the board and in te end lost out by four pionts Armagh 0-13 Kildare 0-9.
