Kildare GAA Annual County Convention is due in late Novemer but already is showing signs of becoming far from the usual run of the mill affair with the news that two more promint figures are to throw their names on to the ballot paper for the position of Chairman and Vice-Chairman, both positions become vacant after those presently in position see their five-year term come to an end.
Cork native Brian Murphy, always remembered for that brilliant goal he scored in the Leinster final of 1998, has decided to go for the chairman's role.
A former minor and U21 manager with the county, the popular Murphy, has served as a senior selector, most recently with Jack O'Connor, is UK Sales Director with Dawn Foods, based in Naas.
Meanwhile Colm Nolan, who is a former Hurling Board Chairman with Kildare has decided to put his name forward for the position of Vice-Chairman.
It will certainly lead to a very interesting convention as already the present Vice-Chairman Colm Farrell, has indicated his is seeking the chairmanship role while Mick Mullen who has been Chairman of the Kildare CCC has indicated that he will be contesting the position of chair.
And don't rule out a few more entrants entering the equation.
Who ever wins it seems there are going to be some big changes at the top of board level within Kildare GAA.
