Trainer John Oxx
All roads this month lead and point towards the highlight of the Flat Season at the end of this month and the Curragh Racecourse with the Kildare Derby Festival arranging some great events all that week to celebrate the best of all things equine.
One of the ‘not to be missed’ events is the Irish Derby Breakfast with Michael Kinane on the Wednesday before the Irish Derby festival June 26.
Event MC Robbie Irwin will interview the legendary Michael Kinane about the famous horses, jockeys, owners and trainers who won the Irish Derby during his career in the saddle including his back-to-back wins on Galileo and High Chaparral in the setting of Lilywhites Lounge, overlooking the Flat Rath gallops with a continental breakfast provided for all guests. Breakfast with tea & coffee served from 9.15am. Guests will also receive a complimentary general admission ticket for racing on Friday evening, June 28.
Another great event being organised by the Curragh Racecourse is a Curragh Gallops Tour with John Oxx with breakfast afterwards at Orby's by Lucy on the Thursday, June 27. Join retired Curragh trainer, Mr John Oxx, for an early morning bus tour of the Curragh gallops, followed by a full Irish breakfast with tea/coffee at Orby's by Lucy. This is a rare opportunity to tour the Curragh gallops early in the morning during the build up the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival in the company of trainer of Irish Derby winners, Sinndar and Alamshar, as well as World Champion racehorse, and now leading stallion, See The Stars. Parking Opens at 6.30am, gallops tour at 6.45am - 8.00am followed by breakfast at Orby's By Lucy at 8.00am. Orby's By Lucy is situated at the main entrance to the Curragh Racecourse.
