Christy Ring Cup Final
Kildare 4-21
Derry 1-22
Kildare are Christy Ring Cup champions once again after huge win over Derry in Croke Park. A goal after three minutes from Muiris Curtin set the tone for Kildare after the Moorefield man found the top corner in superb style.
Derry battled back brilliantly, but were given a sucker punch just before the break when James Burke won a penalty that was dispatched by Jack Sheridan to send The Lilies in with six-point half-time lead.
That lead was cut to one as the trailing side hit five in a row just after half-time. Two Kildare frees and a brilliant goal from David Qualter kicked Kildare clear once again. They would finish with a flourish and Paddy McKenna lifted The Christy Ring Cup for his county.
