Kildare hurlers keep semi-final hopes alive with win over Carlow

Brian Dowling's men must now wait on results from elsewhere to find out their fate

Kildare hurlers X Carlow in final league game

Allianz Hurling League Division 2A Round 5

Kildare 1-16

Carlow 0-15

It was a smash and grab as Kildare hurlers nicked a late goal to get past Carlow in Manguard Park. Jack Sheridan would find the net just a minute before the clock struck 70 as Kildare hit the front or the first time since the 10th minute, despite having a man advantage since the 4th, when Jon Nolan was sent off. However, Kildare's James Burke was also dismissed for a second yellow in the 64th minute.

Despite a lacklustre showing to that point, Kildare rallied late and have kept hopes of continuing their Divsion 2A campaign alive with this win.
