After the long week of rain the weather was near perfect for Sunday's 3pm kickoff between Cill Dara RFC and Longford RFC at Silken Thomas Park, Cill Dara’s Ground staff had the pitches is their usual super condition and they had their work cut out this week so big well done to them for that.

The game kicked off in perfect conditions, little to no breeze and the sun was shining.
Cill Dara started super fast some great passing saw the ball into the hand of Cill Dara’s no10 Michal Hanzar who muscled his way over the line when it did not look on , Bryn Moore added the extras to make it 7-0.

Longford kicked off and put cilldara catcher under pressure and and after a few phases were awarded a penalty on 7 minutes, Ryan Mchugh slotted the 3 to make it 7-3 to Cill Dara.

Cill Dara seemed to take the foot off the gas after this and Longford for large parts of the half were in control and playing all the rugby in Cill Dara’s 22, but phase after phase was thrown at Cill Dara but Longford were never even close to to breaching the Cill Dara line as the game reached the half time break with Cill Dara leading 7-3.

Second half open with a well worked Longford try the earned the right to go wide and Joe McGowan was over in the corner , The extras were missed and this left the score 7-8 to Longford.

This woke Cill Dara up it seems and from the kick off Cill Dara got the ball back and hit Longford with everything they have, and on 50 mins Gordo Shannon got low and powered himself over the line with a huge try, Bryn Moore maid the score 14-8 to the home team .

Cill Dara’s scrum took full control and the the backline pounded the the Longford line for the next 15 mins when Rathangan’s Davey Vaughan crossed the chalk on 65 minutes and Bryn Moore added the extra 2 to leave it 21-8, Longford were starting to wilt .

On 70 minutes some handbags saw a player from each team in the sin bin. 10 minutes later John Joe McIlwrath picked up from a Longford ruck and was over the line.

It finished 26-8 to Cill Dara RFC, very much a game of two halves. Cill Dara are top of Leinster League Div 1B going into the off week.
