Women’s rugby player, Alanna Fitzpatrick, from Portarlington, receives a special presentation from John Cradock MD of John Cradock Ltd., Constriction Solution Partners Ireland, Kilcullen Business Campus, Kilcullen to recognise her achievement on being selected by the IRFU for the Women’s Senior 7’s and 15’s. Allana’s dad, Scottie is a foreman with John Cradock Ltd.

At just 18, Alanna is one of the youngest players to ever represent Ireland in a senior rugby international, playing interprovincial rugby since she was 15, and just recently finishing her Leaving Cert.

Now playing AIL for Blackrock, Alanna was a member of the PortDara Rugby Club when she made her debut for the Ireland Rugby Sevens Women’s Team at the Rugby European Sevens Championship Series in Hamburg, Germany in July 2023.

Alanna crowned her debut tournament for Ireland with a try, a major highlight of Ireland’s efforts in the Hamburg Sevens.
Introduced to rugby at Portarlington RFC and having completed her initiation stages, Alanna went to be part of the PortDara U/16s, and was part of the successful PortDara U/18s who won the Leinster Cup earlier in the season. She was also was
named as one of the 13 players included as a member of the Women’s National Talent Squad.

Alanna’s aim and focus now is pushing all her efforts for the 2024 Olympic Games
