Cian Boran gets his strike in for Kildare against Kerry in the Leinster U20 Hurling Championship in Portlaoise on Bank Holiday Monday
Following their four point defeat at the hands of Laois, Kildare U20 hurlers got back to winning ways with a three point win over Kerry on the back pitch at O'Moore Park, on Bank Holiday Monday.
Played, at times, in torrential rain and wind, the sides were level at 0-4 apiece at half-time.
On the change of ends Kildare, playing with the strong breeze, took control stretching the lead out to 0-12 to 0-4 at the half-way point and while Kerry never gave up, the efforts were rewarded somewhat when the closed the gap, without ever threatening the winners.
A late goal put a bit of a gloss on on the final result but it was Kildare who eventually won on a score line of Kildare 0-15 Kerry 1-9.
