Leinster Minor Hurling Championship Preliminary Quarter-Final

Kildare 1-24

Meath 0-21

Kildare got past Meath in an excellent game to progress in the Leinster Minor Hurling Championship earlier today. Captain Tim Ryan was best for the home side as he lit up Hawkfield on a fine afternoon on more than one occasion.

Ryan used his turn of pace to get away from his man time and time again and more often than not followed it with a super score.

The goal was a crucial moment for Kildare as they worked ball superbly through Meath to Olan Hynes Kelly. The wing-forward took his time and set himself before rounding off the move with a tidy finish into the corner.

A superb win for Kildare in a hard-fought battle that had a red card on both sides with Conor Dixon (Meath) and Charlie Carroll (Kildare) being dismissed.

Kildare, Alex Bell 0-10 (0-9 frees), Tim Ryan 0-6, Olan Hynes Kelly 1-0, Tom Power 0-3, Oisin Loughrane 0-2, Oran Byrne 0-1, Charlie Carroll 0-1, Michael Owens 0-1.
