Jack McKevitt gets away from Dublin's Alex Gavin in the U20 Development League in Newbridge this afternoon
Kildare and Dublin played out a draw (1-8 apiece) in Round 2 of the U20 Development League at St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, this evening on a bitterly cold but dry day, a game that threw in at 12 noon.
Just a three team group, both Kildare and Dublin defeated Kerry by three points in the earlier round but Kerry advance as they scored more against the Kingdom (1-12 as gainst 1-9) than The Lilies.
Kildare led at the break by two points, 0-5 to 0-3, and seemed to be on their way to victory after Oisin O'Sullivan found the Dublin net on 46 points to go five points clear - 1-7 to 0-5.
However Dublin replied instantly with Joe Quickley firing past Eoin Sheehan in the Kildare goals; the same player got it back to one before Ryan Sinkey left two in it on 51 minutes.
Two points from James Cotter and Michael McDonald leveled up matters; Kildare had a late chance to clinch it but the effort was missed and the final whistle arrived.
Final score: Kildare 1-8 Dublin 1-8.
