Kildare fell to their third defeat, this time at the hands of Derry, in Division 2 of the Allianz Football League, at St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, this afternoon.

Derry showed early intent and dominated the proceedings opening up a four point gap after 18 minutes as Kildare struggled to gain any meaningful possession and when they did made a few chances, failed utterly to convert.

On 30 minutes Derry found the Kildare net with Niall McLoughlin making no mistake.

By half-time the visitors led 1-8 to 0-3, that with Derry playing against the strong wind.

The second half played out in a similar mode with Derry again dominating all over the field, and but for some excellent saves by Mark Donnellan the final score line could have included a few more goals.

As it was Shane McGuigan fired in the second Derry goal as they ran out convincing winners on a final score line of Derry 2-15 Kildare 0-7.
