Hidden Hearing celebrates 18 Years in Newbridge
The Hidden Hearing clinic which is celebrating 18 years in the town, has seen the introduction of advanced diagnostic audiology tools and personalised hearing care services, including the world’s first hearing aid with 4D user-intent sensors.
State-of-the-art equipment at the Hidden Hearing clinic on Cutlery Road allows audiologists like Graham Holmes and Daryl Burrowes to conduct comprehensive assessments and tailor treatment plans to each patient’s unique needs.
Graham, who is a fully qualified Audiologist for eight years, said,
“We make a massive difference to people's lives – it's life-changing. It's fantastic to be able to help people to improve their quality of life.”
In June this year, Hidden Hearing launched a new 'Trade-In Campaign' that allows people to trade in old hearing aids, even if they're broken, and receive a phenomenal €2,000 towards a new state-of-the-art pair.
Hidden Hearing are on a mission to help more people hear better.
They’ve also met new patients who have traded in other hearing aids that never felt quite right, for new, bespoke, Hidden Hearing aids.
The Newbridge clinic is currently promoting this fantastic offer, so whether you have worn hearing aids before or you have a pair no longer being used at home, recycle them with Hidden Hearing and avail of the €2,000 gift.
This offer ends on August 31.
Graham added,
“Families can overlook hearing loss and accommodate it. They might leave it for a number of years before they even get a hearing test. Hidden Hearing is encouraging everyone over the age of 55 to have a free hearing test, to get baseline screening of their hearing.
“We have a lot of people who come in and they have normal hearing and that's great. But they may come in again in a year or two and they feel their hearing has changed and we can compare with the baseline test. Then if somebody is hard of hearing, we can improve that and help them with their quality of life.”
Daryl said that young people as well as older people may want to check the quality of their hearing due to the number of devices they put in their ears for hours every day.
Daryl said,
“If you think of the number of hours people have headphones or ear buds in their ears every day which could be harming their hearing.”
He explained,
“If you're commuting in the morning and evening, you probably have headphones on. In the office, you may have a headset and be on video calls for parts of the day.
“In the evening, if they are gaming, they could have headphones on. You could be talking about 12 to 14 hours a day with amplified sound in their ears and that can't but do harm if you’re listening to your devices at a high decibel level.”
He added,
“We've helped thousands of people since the clinic opened 18 years ago – that's giving people their quality of life back.”
Graham said that one of the first things his patients often tell him is that the birds are back!
“It’s a simple sound that many of us take for granted but when we’re able to help people recover these sounds, it’s just wonderful. It's a very rewarding career, I feel fortunate to be able to support people on their hearing care journey.”
Say goodbye to earwax! Special Offer for the Month of August!
To celebrate 18 years in business, Hidden Hearing Newbridge, is offering free earwax removal for the over 55s.
People can phone and arrange a free appointment with the clinic Coordinator Sharon up until August 31, 2024. This service usually costs €70 so don’t miss out on this limited time offer!
Some people may think they have a hearing loss; however, you could just have a build-up of earwax.
Symptoms of hard or impacted earwax can include sudden or partial hearing loss, tinnitus, a feeling of fullness in the ear, or earache. It is also difficult to perform a proper hearing test when there is a build-up of earwax.
Wax acts as a self-cleaning service for ears, protecting the sensitive ear canal from things like bacteria and debris that can cause infection.
Apart from damaging the sensitive inner ear, cotton buds, fingertips or hair grips can cause impacted wax, as can regular use of bud earphones, earplugs and even hearing aids, it seems.
All Hidden Hearing patients receive free 6 monthly check-ups to ensure their ears are clear and their hearing aids remain finely tuned to their specific needs.
Clinics also have walk-in hours, should they ever need additional support.
Singer Daniel O’Donnell supports the new Hidden Hearing campaign ‘Keep Being You’, that aims to educate the public on the importance of taking care of their hearing and ear health, just as they would look after their teeth, eyesight, blood pressure or cholesterol.
