Overhanging trees are causing a problem in Leixlip.
Local politician Bernard Caldwell has asked Kildare County Council to make contact with Waterways Ireland asking them to request those responsible for trees to cut them back.
Cllr Caldwell said the trees are located between Salmon Leap bridge and the main street car park.
