Naas Courthouse
A knife and hammer were used during an assault incident at the train station in Kilcock, it was claimed at a Naas District Court sitting.
Before the court in connection with the incident was a 16 year old, who cannot be identified because of his age.
Sgt Dave Hanrahan told the court the incident took place on May 30, 2023 at 11am.
He said four people were involved in a fight and the other three have already appeared in court.
He said the four were fighting with each other and he added that some significant wounds were sustained. He said it will be alleged that stab wounds were inflicted.
Judge Desmond Zaidan said it is likely that he will refuse jurisdiction, meaning that the case is likely to be heard in the circuit court.
He also said that because of the defendant’s age an application can be made under the Children Act for him to hear the case in the district court.
In response to the judge, Sgt Hanrahan said that it was his understanding that the youth was as “as involved as any of the others.”
The defendant was aged 15 at the time of the alleged offence.
He was remanded on continuing bail to November 5.
