Kildare residents are concerned over plans for a helicopter search and rescue base.

Kildare County Council has been asked to outline “the discussions and formal safety procedures” it intends to put in place for the proposed helicopter search and rescue (SAR) base at Weston Airport, near Leixlip.

Permission for the development was granted recently by South Dublin County Council.

Weston Airport is situated just inside the County Dublin border at Backweston, Leixlip.
