Kildare man fighting cancer for third time says tumours have ‘decreased in size’

Mick Mullan from Eadestown

An Eadestown man's cancer tumours have all decreased in size, thanks to a new chemotherapy combination.

Michael (Mick) Mullan is fighting cancer for the third time, and is receiving treatment in the US.

The Michael Mullan Cancer Fund Facebook page posted an update on Mick's treatment which he is undertaking at the Dana–Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

In December, Mick ended up in intensive care, but the Facebook post goes on to say “he is now feeling the best since this all started”.

Mick was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma as a 16 month old baby, and after successfully fighting that he remained cancer free until he was 22-years-old.

He was then told by Doctors he had cancer in his kidney cells, which is when he made the move over to the US as no treatment was available in Ireland.

At 24, Mick was told he had six months to live. He is still currently battling through his third cancer diagnosis.

Mick is due to marry long-term girlfriend Mel Murphy from Ballymore in July.
