THE average price of a house in county Kildare rose by 4.25% for the first ten months of this year compared to the same period in 2015, according to an analysis of recent figures from Property Price Register.
While there was an eight per cent fall in the number of sales from 1,769 to 1,628 for the January to October, inclusive, period, the average price rose from €254,842 to €265,671.
The median price - the middle range of prices - moved up 7.6% to €242,000.
A price of under €100,000 was recorded for 170 properties.
The average price of the lowest third of the price range rose 13.2% to €127,000 while the average price for those in the mid third of the range rose 7.7% to €242,357.
The total money spent on residences over the period was €432.5 million, a drop of 4% on the €450.8m in 2015.
