Garda investigation underway as masseuse constantly receives 'happy ending' requests from men

A Garda investigation is underway as a masseuse is constantly receiving requests for "happy endings" from men, making her feel anxious and uncomfortbale. 

Yosita FitzPatrick, originally from Thailand, is the owner of Connemara Massage Therapy and Wellness.

She revealed how she has had to stop accepting male clients because of being inundated with requests for sexual services and "happy endings." 

She had to make a formal complaint to Gardaí, who are now investigating the claims after Yosita provided evidence in the form of audio recordings and screenshots, according to The Journal. 

One of the audio recordings is from the phone number of a former member of An Garda Síochána, asking Yosita if she takes her clothes off during massages.

He also told her he was looking for sex.

Speaking to RTÉ's Liveline a couple of weeks ago, Yosita explained how the requests happen every day, causing her to feel anxious.

"All I ask for is simple – respect. I can no longer accept what has been happening," she said.

When these kinds of calls and messages first started, she was able to ignore it. 

She would delete and block the messages or numbers making the requests, but now that it is happening every day, she has started to reply to tell men to "leave her alone." 

Yosita told Liveline that at times she also receives dirty photos.

"It's bringing me anxiety. I was thinking about closing down my business," she shared.

Yosita explained how the community in Letterfrack, where the business is, has been amazing and trying to help her however they can; however, she feels the issue is bigger than anything they can do. 

She also explained how she knows it happens to other people in the industry. 

Yosita decided to ban male clients from her salon, but last week she made a formal complaint to Gardaí at Clifden Garda Station.

"No one has a right to harass me simply because I am a Thai woman or because I own a massage business. I am a therapist. I heal people. This is what I love. It is my purpose, and I do not want to walk away from it," Yosita explained.
